Syria’s new minister of information Khaled Zaarour assumes duties

Syria’s new minister of information Khaled Zaarour assumes duties

Damascus, May 10 (SANA) Syria’s New Minister of Information Khaled Fawaz Zaarour assumed his duties Sunday, succeeding Hamza al-Mustafa during an official handover ceremony held at the ministry’s headquarters in Damascus.

According to a statement published by the Ministry of Information on Telegram, Zaarour praised the efforts of his predecessor in helping launch a new phase for Syrian media after liberation, adding that he intends to build on the achievements of the previous period.

Al-Mustafa, for his part, wished Zaarour success in his new role.

On Saturday, President Ahmad al-Sharaa issued Decree No. 100 of 2026 appointing Khaled Fawaz Zaarour as minister of information.
