Damascus, April 28 (SANA) Syrian Minister of Information Hamza al-Mustafa discussed with Mauritanian Ambassador to Damascus, Taleb Mokhtar Sheikh Mohamed al-Mujtaba, ways to activate several memoranda of understanding between the two countries, particularly in the media sector.
During the meeting held on Tuesday, Minister al-Mustafa reaffirmed the Syrian government’s commitment, post-liberation, to strengthening its Arab ties and restoring its presence within the Arab sphere both in word and deed. He noted the closeness of the Mauritanian people to the hearts of Syrians despite the geographical distance.
Al Mustafa added that Syria’s chairmanship of the Council of Arab Information Ministers, with Mauritania as a member, opens new horizons for joint work and coordinated action.
For his part, the Mauritanian ambassador expressed his pride in representing his country in Damascus, a city that holds a distinguished historical and cultural place in the Arab and Islamic consciousness.
These meetings come within the framework of expanding Syrian-Mauritanian relations across various fields and promoting broader Arab cooperation and the exchange of expertise.
