Damascus, Apr. 23 (SANA) Director of Public Relations at the General Authority for Borders and Customs Mazen Alloush, announced Thursday, that the bodies of 76 Syrian citizens killed during the ongoing Israeli aggression on Lebanon have been repatriated through official border crossings.
Alloush told SANA that since the start of the escalation in March 2026, a total of 180 bodies have been transported across the Syrian-Lebanese border. Of these, 76 were confirmed victims of Israeli shelling and military operations.
The repatriation of the 76 victims was facilitated through two primary land ports, the Jdeidet Yabous crossing received 37 bodies, while the Jousieh crossing received 39 bodies.
The return of these bodies comes amidst a sharp increase in casualties across Lebanon. According to the latest data from the National News Agency (NNA) in Lebanon, the toll from Israeli attacks since March 2, 2026, has reached 2,454 deaths and 7,658 injuries.
