Quneitra, Apr. 21 (SANA) A United Nations delegation met Tuesday with residents of Jubata al-Khashab in the northern countryside of Quneitra to document the ongoing violations committed by Israeli occupation forces. The mission aims to report these breaches to the relevant international organizations and judicial bodies.
Mohammad al-Said, Director of the Northern District of Quneitra, told SANA that the delegation listened to extensive testimonies from local citizens regarding the systematic harassment they face near the 1974 ceasefire line.
The residents presented several urgent cases to the UN officials, highlighting a deteriorating security and humanitarian situation including enforced disappearances, some families detailed the abduction of several young men by occupation forces months ago, whose whereabouts and conditions remain unknown.
Al-Said noted that such violations pose livelihood restrictions, some farmers and shepherds reported being forcibly prevented from accessing their agricultural lands and grazing areas, crippling the local economy. while targeted killings remain the most disturbing point. The delegation was briefed on the recent killing of a civilian in the town of al-Rafid, who was targeted and killed while going to his farm.
Even as the UN delegation conducted its assessment, Israeli provocations continued. Early Tuesday morning, an Israeli occupation force stormed the village of Tranjeh in the northern countryside, arresting a local resident and transporting him to an undisclosed location.
