Damascus, Apr.6 (SANA) Minister of Emergency and Disaster Management Raed al-Saleh on Monday discussed with Spain’s Chargé d’Affaires in Syria, Francisco Javier Buga Yubis, and his accompanying delegation, ways to enhance joint cooperation in disaster management.
During the meeting, held at the ministry’s headquarters in Damascus, al-Saleh stressed the importance of benefiting from Spanish expertise, particularly in early warning systems, response coordination, resource management, as well as in the protection of heritage cities and water rescue operations, in line with the challenges facing Syria.
Both sides reiterated the need to build effective partnerships among Mediterranean countries to address shared risks, and to enhance the exchange of expertise with international partners, contributing to the development of response capabilities and preparedness.
