Homs, April.5 (SANA) The Jousieh Border Crossing with Lebanon is witnessing a notable increase in traveler traffic, as it remains the only active point between the two countries.
The increase comes amid the continued closure of the Jdeidet Yabous Border Crossing from the Lebanese side due to potential security threats.
The General Authority for Ports and Customs has raised its operational readiness to maximum levels by deploying additional personnel across various specializations and reinforcing field teams, ensuring faster procedures and smoother transit.
Operations at the crossing are maintained 24 hours a day, with necessary organizational and logistical measures in place to cope with the growing pressure, while providing maximum facilitation for travelers and securing their comfort and safety.
The authority noted that the al-Arida Border Crossing remains partially operational for the return of Syrian nationals, in accordance with specified procedures and schedules, ensuring a safe and orderly process.
It added that crossing through Jdeidet Yabous was temporarily halted on Saturday after the Lebanese side closed the corresponding al-Masnaa Border Crossing, following threats by the Israeli occupation army to target the road leading to the crossing, claiming its use by Hezbollah militia for military purposes.
