Damascus, March 31 (SANA) Four people were killed and 25 others injured in traffic accidents and fires across Syria over the past 24 hours, authorities said Tuesday.
The Syrian Civil Defense said in a statement on its Telegram channel that its teams responded to five traffic accidents, which left two people dead and 16 injured. The injured were given first aid at the scene before being taken to hospitals, while the bodies of the victims were transferred to forensic authorities.
In separate incidents, firefighting teams responded to 17 fires, including 11 in homes and shops and six smaller fires, the statement said. Two girls were killed and nine people injured in those incidents.
Civil Defense teams provided emergency assistance to the injured and transported them to medical facilities, while the bodies of the two girls were transferred to the forensic department in Hama province.
On Sunday, emergency teams responded to nine traffic accidents and 20 fires across the country, resulting in 18 injuries and no deaths, according to the statement.
