Idlib, March 28 (SANA) Residents and activists in Idlib commemorated the eleventh anniversary of the city’s liberation from the deposed regime forces on Saturday, holding a public celebration in al-Tahrir Park (Liberation Park).
The event brought together activists and representatives from several institutions and public bodies and featured symbolic activities honoring the sacrifices of Syrians during the war.

Dr. Abdul Moneim Zein al-Din, a former general coordinator in the Syrian revolution, told SANA that he witnessed the city’s liberation alongside local heroes and revolutionaries from across Syria. He described Idlib’s liberation as particularly significant, calling it “a center for gathering revolutionaries and a starting point for the liberation of Syria.”
Nizar Hamada, an organizing member of the event and former coordinator in the Syrian revolution, echoed the sentiment, describing Idlib as “a city dear to all Syrians, serving as a hub for revolutionaries and a launch point for the liberation of the country.”
Zakaria Sano, a participant from the town of Killi in Idlib countryside, expressed pride in the occasion, noting that “revolutionaries and free people cannot forget Idlib,” which continues to serve as a meeting place and source of memories for Syrians from across the country.
