Damascus, March 10 (SANA) President Ahmad al-Sharaa issued a decree establishing a committee tasked with preparing infrastructure in Syria’s destroyed areas ahead of the possible return of displaced residents.

The committee will be chaired by the minister of emergency and disaster management and will include the ministers of finance, public works and housing, social affairs and labour, and local administration and environment, along with the governors of Aleppo, Hama and Idlib.

The panel has been tasked with helping rehabilitate infrastructure in areas damaged during the conflict and improving services for people living in internal displacement areas, the decree said.

The effort is aimed at creating conditions that would allow residents to return to their homes and reduce the impact of long-term displacement.
