Hasakah, March 9 (SANA) Around 400 families from Afrin who had been residing in Hasakah province returned Monday to their homes in Afrin in northern Aleppo province as part of government efforts to enable displaced families to return to their original areas.
Buses carrying the families departed from Hasakah city under security and logistical arrangements to ensure their safe arrival. The departure took place in the presence of the presidential delegation tasked with following up on the implementation of the January 29 agreement with the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF).

Presidential delegation spokesman Ahmad al-Hilal said that 50 buses were secured under government supervision and in coordination with the relevant governorates to transport the families, along with logistical supplies and ambulances. Internal Security Forces were also deployed to secure the route until the families reached their areas safely.
Al-Hilal added that the group represents the first batch of Afrin residents currently in Hasakah province and that additional groups will follow in the coming period. He expressed hope that residents of al-Shyoukh subdistrict in Ain al-Arab area will soon be able to return to their homes.

Hasakah Governor Nour al-Din Ahmad said the return of Afrin residents marks the beginning of a new phase of hope and stability, wishing the families a safe and stable life in their region and affirming continued follow-up on their conditions.
Director of Political Affairs in Hasakah Abbas Hussein said additional batches are expected to depart in the coming days. He noted that work will begin tomorrow on the detainees and prisoners file, with the Syrian state expected to release a group of detainees, while the SDF will release detainees it holds in a reciprocal process aimed at eventually clearing prisons on both sides.
