Damascus, March 9 (SANA) Minister of Emergency Management and Disaster Response Raed al-Saleh affirmed that Syrian women have demonstrated remarkable strength and resilience, overcoming some of the harshest conditions and enduring years of displacement, detention, and loss.
Marking International Women’s Day, al-Saleh praised, on the “X” platform, female staff in the ministry for their frontline role in rescue and emergency operations.

The minister stressed the importance of standing by Syrian women and recognising the achievements they have made despite the challenges they have faced. He said empowering women is key to building sustainable peace and supporting post-war recovery.
Every year on 8 March, the world celebrates International Women’s Day, an occasion dedicated to highlighting the vital role of women in society and promoting their rights and status across economic, social, political, and cultural fields, while supporting their full participation in all aspects of life.
