Damascus, Feb. 22 (SANA) – The Director General of the Syrian Development Fund, Safwat Raslan, met on Sunday with the Chargé d’Affaires of the Embassy of Cyprus in Syria, Michalis Hadjikyrou, to discuss enhancing cooperation in development and reconstruction and exploring partnership opportunities in key projects supporting Syria’s economic recovery.

During the meeting, Hadjikyrou expressed his country’s interest in contributing actively to reconstruction efforts in Syria, noting that economic and development cooperation represents an important opportunity to promote stability and support local communities.

He voiced particular interest in cooperation in the tourism sector and affirmed Cyprus’s readiness to share its expertise in developing fuel supply infrastructure and the cement industry, describing both as essential sectors for reconstruction that could help improve services and create new job opportunities.

The meeting comes as part of the Syrian Development Fund’s efforts to expand its network of international partnerships and advance sustainable development projects aimed at supporting Syria’s economic and social recovery.
