Provinces, 14. Feb (SANA)Syrian Civil Defense teams responded to dozens of emergency calls overnight after heavy rainfall affected the provinces of Lattakia, Tartous, Homs, Hama, Idlib and Aleppo.

The Civil Defense said in a statement ‘’that crews worked to drain water from main roads to restore traffic, reopen mountain roads blocked by mud and rocks caused by flooding, and two stranded vehicles, according to SANA.

In camps affected by rainfall in the countryside of Idlib and Aleppo, teams pumped out water, opened drainage channels away from the tents, and helped reinstall tents damaged by strong winds. Response operations are ongoing as rainfall continues.

Syria has been affected since Thursday evening by a weather system bringing heavy rain and strong winds, expected to last until Saturday evening. Rainfall over the past 24 hours reached up to 60 mm in Shat-ha in the al-Ghab area of Hama countryside, while 28 mm was recorded earlier in Darkoush in Idlib.
