Quneitra, Jan. 25 (SANA) Israeli occupation forces on Saturday evening opened heavy and indiscriminate fire on the road connecting the village of Umm al-Ezam with the al-Mantarah Dam area in the Quneitra countryside in southwestern Syria, with no reports of civilian casualties.

SANA reporter in Quneitra said that the occupation forces imposed a curfew on cars and motorcycles in Umm al-Ezam village.

The forces also detained two young men from al-Hanout village for several hours while they were herding sheep on agricultural land surrounding the village.

Israel continues to carry out attacks and violations of the 1974 Disengagement Agreement through incursions into southern Syria, including raids, arbitrary arrests, forced displacement, and land leveling that affects civilians.

Syria has repeatedly demanded the withdrawal of Israeli occupation forces from its territory, stressing that all measures taken by Israel in southern Syria are null and void and have no legal effect under international law. Syria has also called on the international community to assume its responsibilities, deter these practices, and compel a full Israeli withdrawal from southern Syria.
