Al-Hasakah, Feb. 10 (SANA) Units of the Syrian Arab Army have begun on Tuesday withdrawing from the outskirts of al-Hasakah province in implementation of the agreement concluded between the Syrian government and the SDF.
The Army’s Operations Directorate said in a statement to SANA that Internal Security Forces have deployed in the areas vacated by the army, noting that the SDF is adhering to the agreement and taking positive steps toward its execution.
The directorate added that monitoring and evaluation are continuing to determine the next phase of implementation.
Last Friday, a delegation from the Operations Directorate, accompanied by senior army officers, conducted a field tour of several locations across al-Hasakah province together with SDF representatives, as part of on-the-ground measures to enforce the agreement.
On Jan. 30, the Syrian government announced it had reached a comprehensive ceasefire agreement with the SDF, including understandings on a phased integration of military and administrative forces, the entry of Internal Security units into the centers of al-Hasakah and Qamishli, and the handover of all civil and government institutions, crossings and border points to state authorities.
