Idleb, Feb. 9 (SANA) Minister of Social Affairs and Labor Hind Kabawat met on Monday with representatives of international and local organizations in Idleb, northwestern Syria, to discuss strengthening joint cooperation to support flood-affected and displaced families living in camps.
During the meeting at Aleppo Camp 2, west of the town of Darkush in the western countryside of Idleb, Kabawat reviewed the humanitarian situation in the camps, particularly in light of recent floods that have affected a number of displacement sites across the province. The floods caused damage to tents and basic infrastructure and increased the needs of vulnerable families.
The minister stressed the importance of enhancing coordination among government institutions, humanitarian organizations and volunteer teams to ensure faster and more effective responses, especially during emergency situations resulting from harsh weather conditions.

As part of her visit to the province, Kabawat also met with Idleb Governor Mohammad Abdul Rahman to discuss overall conditions in the camps and mechanisms to improve support for displaced people.
Heavy rainfall across northern and western Syria on Saturday triggered severe flooding that swept away and submerged tents near seasonal waterways in camps around Idleb’s Kherbet al-Jouz, prompting urgent evacuations and the opening of temporary shelters for displaced families.
The visit comes within the framework of the Syrian government’s efforts to expand support and enhance resilience in displacement camps, particularly during the winter season and periods of extreme weather.
