Idlib, June 20 (SANA) Local authorities in Syria’s northwestern Idlib province on Friday announced the reopening of 50 schools that have been rehabilitated with support from the local “Loyalty to Idlib” campaign, in a move aimed at strengthening post-war educational services.

The announcement was made during an event in the city of Kafr Nabl attended by Emergency and Disaster Management Minister Raed Al Saleh and Idlib Governor Mohammad Abdulrahman.

Activities began at Dhi Qar School, where officials toured the facility following rehabilitation work and reviewed preparations for the upcoming school year.

The school, which has served the area for about 60 years, had remained out of service for several years. The rehabilitation project included the construction and refurbishment of more than 800 square meters of facilities, including 21 classrooms, administrative offices and a laboratory, in addition to upgrades to the school grounds and infrastructure.

Residents welcomed the reopening of the schools, saying the move would help restore educational stability for students after years of disruption.

Local authorities stressed the importance of supporting the education sector and continuing efforts to rehabilitate educational infrastructure and improve basic services across the province.
