Damascus, Jan. 26 (SANA) The Agriculture Directorate of Damascus and its countryside held talks on Sunday with representatives of the Dutch relief and recovery organization ZOA to strengthen support for farmers and boost agricultural production.
The meeting focused on ways the organization could assist the agricultural sector, with particular attention to a project in the Qatana area that distributes agricultural and livestock inputs to increase local production.
The Director of Agriculture, Zaid Abu Assaf, emphasized the importance of designing development projects based on local needs and implementing monitoring mechanisms to ensure measurable results. He also called for closer coordination among international organizations to ensure fair project distribution, avoid duplication, and expand support across the Damascus region.
ZOA, a Netherlands-based international NGO, provides relief and recovery assistance to communities affected by conflict and natural disasters. In Syria, the organization carries out agricultural development projects in several provinces to empower farmers and improve productivity.
