Aleppo, Jan. 25 (SANA) The Aleppo Central Response Committee, in coordination with United Nations agencies, has dispatched a convoy of 24 trucks carrying medical, relief and logistical supplies to the Ain al-Arab area in the Aleppo countryside to support residents’ humanitarian and service needs.
In a statement issued Sunday, the Aleppo Media Directorate said the move follows a 15-day extension of the ceasefire and reflects the Syrian state’s efforts to ensure the continuity of essential services and meet citizens’ basic needs in cooperation with UN organizations.
The statement said the assistance is being delivered ahead of the deployment of Syrian state institutions in the area, after the withdrawal of heavy military presence and the formation of a local security force made up of residents of the city. The force is administratively affiliated with the Syrian Ministry of Interior, while a local police presence will remain in place.
Meanwhile, most residents have returned to areas where Syrian state authorities have been deployed in the town of Sarrin, in Ain al-Arab region, following the deployment of Internal Security Forces and the resumption of government institutions’ work.
