Damascus,Jan.24 (SANA)– The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates denied as untrue the news circulated about the extension of the deadline given by the Syrian government to the SDF organization regarding the future of al-Hasakah province.
“Reports about extending the ceasefire deadline with SDF are untrue, baseless,” a ministry source told SANA on Saturday.
The Syrian presidency announced on Jan. 20 that it has reached a shared understanding with the SDF on a number of issues related to the future of al-Hasakah province in northeast Syria.
In a statement, the presidency said it was agreed to grant the SDF four days for consultations in order to develop a detailed plan for the practical mechanism of integrating the areas.
Syrian Ministry of Defense also announced a ceasefire in all sectors of the Syrian Arab Army’s operations for four days, in compliance with the understandings announced by the Syrian state with the SDF.
