Ankara, Jan. 23 (SANA) Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan announced that his country continues its efforts to promote peace in several regions around the world, particularly Syria, Gaza, and Ukraine.
According to the Turkish Presidency’s Communications Directorate, Erdogan made these remarks while receiving representatives of the “Balkan Peace Platform,” which held its second meeting in Istanbul on Friday.
Erdogan explained that Turkey is working to mitigate the consequences of regional instability, noting that both the region and the world face multiple challenges that require strengthening solidarity and mutual understanding, especially among the member states of the Balkan Platform.
It is noteworthy that the “Balkan Peace Platform” was established at Turkey’s initiative to promote dialogue, build trust, and foster cooperation among regional countries, contributing to sustainable solutions for unresolved regional issues. Istanbul hosted the platform’s inaugural meeting on July 26, 2025.
