Damascus, Jan. 22 (SANA) Syria’s Ministry of Energy on Thursday denied reports claiming that water supply to the city of Ain al-Arab (Kobani) had been intentionally cut, emphasizing that the government remains fully committed to providing water and electricity services to all citizens across the country.

The ministry said it is working to maintain continuous service within the limits of available technical capacity.

In a statement, the ministry explained that the current disruption stems from a technical failure at the Tishreen transformer, which was damaged in previous attacks on the region’s energy infrastructure by SDF organization. Access for maintenance crews to the site is currently restricted, delaying necessary repairs and potentially extending the service interruption beyond usual periods.

The ministry added that its teams are continuously monitoring the situation and will begin repair work as soon as safe access to the site is possible.

It reassured the public that efforts are ongoing to restore normal operations as quickly as possible, highlighting the challenges posed by damaged infrastructure and limited technical access.
