Homs, Jan. 22 (SANA) Syrian Health Minister Musab al-Ali on Wednesday inaugurated several renovated medical facilities in Homs, central Syria, as part of government efforts to strengthen healthcare and improve services with support from international organizations.
Reopened sites include the kidney unit at Homs National Hospital in al-Waer, Bayada Health Center (renovated with support from Japan, WHO, and UNICEF), Karam Al-Zaytoun Health Center (funded by the Greek Orthodox Patriarchate), and al-Rastan Health Center (supported by the Al-Ameen Organization), together serving more than 170,000 residents.
Al-Ali stressed the importance of coordination between primary and secondary healthcare centers to provide integrated services and praised the role of local and international partners. He also announced plans to restore operations at the damaged Homs National Hospital.
Officials highlighted the rehabilitation projects as a result of cooperation between the Ministry of Health and international organizations. The centers provide services including reproductive health, pediatrics, gynecology, and dentistry, with plans to add laboratories and imaging equipment.
The Ministry of Health continues to rehabilitate facilities nationwide, most recently opening the “Recovery Gateway” addiction clinic in Darayya, Damascus Countryside, in partnership with WHO, alongside new cooperation agreements with the Al-Ameen Organization.
