Syrian Interior Ministry Units enter Maskanah to protect civilians and facilities
The Syrian Interior Ministry announces that its units have entered Maskana in the eastern Aleppo countryside to protect civilians and facilities.

Damascus, Jan 17 (SANA) Following their deployment in the city of Deir Hafer and securing all its neighborhoods, units of the Syrian Ministry of Interior began entering Maskanah city in eastern Aleppo countryside on Saturday.

The units spread across the city’s streets and vital facilities to strengthen security control and impose order, contributing to the stability of daily life for the residents after the withdrawal of the SDF organization and the handover of the city to the Syrian Arab Army.

In a statement released on its Telegram channel, the Ministry confirmed that the measure is being carried out to protect civilians and secure vital facilities, in full coordination with Syrian Arab Army units already deployed in the city, in order to ensure its stability and restore peace and security to the residents.

Earlier in the day, the Syrian Arab Army took control over the cities of Deir Hafer and Maskanah, along with 34 villages and towns in eastern Aleppo countryside. Hundreds of SDF members surrendered to the Army, and more than 200 members of the organization were safely evacuated.
