Daraa, Jan.17 (SANA) Israeli occupation forces carried out a new incursion on Saturday into the vicinity of the villages of Maariya and Abdeen in the Yarmouk Basin area in the western countryside of Daraa province, southern Syria.
Municipality head of Maariya and Abdeen villages, Muwaffaq Mahmoud, told SANA that an occupying force consisting of 20 soldiers, three Hilux vehicles, and a military jeep, was stationed in the area between the two villages from six and eight hour in the morning, and then withdrew.
Yesterday, an occupying force advanced into the villages of Ain al-Ziwan and Suwaisa in the southern countryside of Quneitra.
Israeli occupation forces continue to violate the 1974 Disengagement agreement through repeated incursions into southern Syria, as well as raids, arrests and land-clearing operations targeting civilians.
Syria has repeatedly demanded the withdrawal of Israeli occupation forces from its territory, stressing that all measures taken by Israel in southern Syria are null and void and carry no legal effect under international law.
