Syrian Arab Army Operations Command declares SDF sites in Aleppo military targets

Aleppo, Jan. 6 (SANA) The Operations Command of the Syrian Arab Army announced that all military positions of the SDF organization inside the Sheikh Maqsoud and Ashrafieh neighborhoods of Aleppo, northern Syria, are legitimate military targets.

In a statement issued on Wednesday, the command said the decision comes “after the major escalation carried out by the organization toward the neighborhoods of the city of Aleppo and its massacres against civilians.”

The Command called on civilians in the Sheikh Maqsoud and Ashrafieh neighborhoods to immediately distance themselves from SDF positions.

“We urge our civilian people in the Sheikh Maqsoud and Ashrafieh neighborhoods to immediately distance themselves from SDF sites,” the statement said.

The command also announced the opening of two safe humanitarian corridors to allow civilian movement.
“We announce two safe humanitarian crossings, Al-Awarid Crossing and Al-Zohour Street Crossing, which are known to the residents of the area, until 3 p.m.,” the statement added.

Earlier on Tuesday, attacks by the SDF organization on residential neighborhoods resulted in the killing of three civilians, including two women, and the wounding of 15 others, including two children in neighborhoods near Ashrafieh and Sheikh Maqsoud neighborhood in the city of Aleppo.
