Damascus, Dec. 8 (SANA) The Defense Ministry marked Liberation Day with military parades in several provinces, showcasing the Syrian Arab Army’s resolve and preparedness to safeguard the country and its people.
In Damascus, the parade, attended by President Ahmad al-Sharaa, several ministers, and military officers, began at Mezzeh Airport, passed along Mezzeh Highway and Umayyad Square, and concluded at Customs Square. Various units of the Ministry of Defense participated, demonstrating the army’s readiness to defend the unity and sovereignty of the country.
The parade featured army helicopters flying over Damascus, dropping flowers and paper cuttings with patriotic slogans. Fourteen glider pilots performed aerial displays over Umayyad Square in coordination with the parade.
In Aleppo, the parade moved through several neighborhoods to the Citadel, with multiple units taking part. Similar parades were held in Lattakia, Tartous, Deir Ezzor, Homs, Hama, and Daraa to demonstrate the country’s readiness to defend itself.
Thousands of citizens gathered to watch the parades, waving Syrian flags and chanting in celebration of Liberation Day.
