Damascus, Dec. 8 (SANA) Across Syria, popular and official celebrations took place Monday, featuring military parades to mark the first anniversary of Liberation Day. Hundreds of thousands of citizens flocked to public squares to join the festivities and express their joy.
The main celebration was held at Umayyad Square in Damascus, where citizens gathered early to attend the military parade organized by the Ministry of Defense on Mezzeh Highway.
On this day last year, revolutionary forces succeeded in overthrowing the Assad regime after 54 years of rule.
