With the rainy season delayed and after years of drought linked to climate change, thousands of Syrians took part on Friday in the “Istisqa prayer” (prayer for rain) across provinces nationwide, following a call by the Ministry of Awqaf.
The “Istisqa” prayer is a traditional Islamic ritual performed when rainfall is scarce or drought persists, serving as a communal plea for mercy and relief.
