39 Mosques Restored in Hama, Reviving Religious and Cultural Life

Hama, SANA- The Endowments Directorate in Hama announced the restoration of 39 mosques as part of a comprehensive plan to revive their religious, cultural, and social roles. The rehabilitation, supported by charitable contributions, civil society initiatives, and expatriate efforts, has brought several historic and community mosques back to service.

Endowments Director Mustafa al-Qarat said engineering teams carried out field assessments in the city and countryside, enabling the reconstruction of main mosques such as the Sultan and Sheikh Anbar Mosques in Hama, the Great Mosque in Qalaat al-Madiq, and Khalid Ibn al-Walid Mosque in Al-Lataminah, among others across multiple villages.

Al-Qarat emphasized that the restored mosques have regained their role as centers of faith and learning, while also enhancing the cultural and urban landscape of Hama’s towns.
