Sweida-SANA- The evacuation of Bedouin families who had been trapped in the city of Sweida began this morning. Following intensive efforts by the Syrian Ministry of Interior, an agreement was reached to evacuate all civilians wishing to leave Sweida due to the current circumstances.

“We affirm our full commitment to ensuring the exit of all those wishing to leave Sweida province, and we will provide the possibility of entry to those who wish to do so, as part of our ongoing efforts to consolidate stability and restore security to the province.” said the commander of the Interior Security Forces in Sweida province, Brigadier General Ahmad al-Dalati.

General al-Dalati indicated that a security cordon has been imposed around Sweida to secure it and halt hostilities, preserving the path that will lead to reconciliation and stability in the province.

The families were received by General al-Dalati and the Commander of Interior Security in Daraa, General Shaher Omran. They were evacuated amid a large-scale field deployment of interior security forces, which worked to secure the area and ensure the safety of civilians.

The Syrian government continues its mediation efforts with the parties in Sweida to de-escalate and promote reconciliation, while emphasizing the need for all parties to adhere to the ceasefire and allow state institutions to play their role in restoring security and stability.

The Syrian government is also working to meet humanitarian needs and urgently respond to appeals within the city, given the severe shortage of relief supplies and basic services.
