National Investigation Committee Denies Issuing Any Statements on Sweida Incidents

15 August، 2025

Damascus, SANA – The official spokesperson for the National Investigation Committee into the Sweida incidents, Lawyer Ammar Ezzedin, confirmed that the committee has not issued any official statements regarding its investigations to any internal or external party to date.

Ezzedin’s remarks came in response to reports circulating on social media and in some media outlets, which he described as “baseless.” He stressed that the information attributed to the committee was “incorrect and does not comply with professional standards.”

The spokesperson noted that the committee began its work immediately after its formation and is preparing to hold a press conference soon. During the conference, it will outline the steps it has taken since its inception and present its interim plans for the next phase.
