Hama, Sana- Civil Defense teams evacuated on Friday a number of citizens from their homes in Shatha of al-Ghab region after the forest fire reached residential areas.
Civil Defense said in a statement ”that its personnel removed some citizens from their homes and treated others due to smoke inhalation or minor injuries resulting from the fire, which continues to spread.
The statement added that ‘’firefighters are doing their best in an attempt to extinguish the fire amid the raging flames and very high temperatures, which have increased the intensity of the winds spreading around the town, in order to protect the lives and property of the people of the area.
