Britain welcomes World Bank's allocation of a grant to improve electricity supply in Syria

London, SANA – Britain welcomed the World Bank’s allocation of $146 million to improve electricity supplies and support economic recovery in Syria.

In a post on the X platform, the British Mission to Syria reported: “This is a vital issue for the Syrian economy and people,and we were pleased to offer our support to the World Bank Board of Directors this week.”

The World Bank announced on Wednesday its approval of a $146 million grant to help Syria restore reliable and affordable electricity supplies and support the country’s economic recovery.
