Progressive Socialist Party: Terrorist attack on Damascus church aims to spread chaos

Beirut, SANA-The Progressive Socialist Party in Lebanon condemned on Monday in strongest terms the terrorist attack that targeted St. Elias Church in Damascus, stressing that the primary goal of this criminal act was to spread chaos, tamper with internal security, and hinder the process of rebuilding Syria.

In a statement carried by the Lebanese National News Agency, the party stressed: “the need for complete vigilance to confront attempts to undermine internal stability by intimidating the various components of the Syrian people, especially in light of the new path the country is witnessing, which exacerbates the challenges and calls for further efforts to strengthen national unity and rally around the state and its institutions.”

The party also offered its deepest condolences to the Syrian leadership, the Syrian people in general, and the Greek Orthodox Patriarchate in particular, for the innocent victims who perished in this heinous crime.”
