Integrated Humanitarian Program begins in Syria backed by Qatar Red Crescent and OCHA

Doha, SANA- Qatar Red Crescent has announced the launch of a humanitarian project aimed at strengthening therapeutic and comprehensive nutrition programs in northwestern Syria, in cooperation with the United Nations Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (OCHA).

According to the organization’s official website, the project titled “Improving Access to Comprehensive and Emergency Nutrition Services for Children and Infants “has deployed 9 rapid response teams and 15 mobile units, comprising a total of 48 healthcare workers.

The initiative seeks to save lives and reduce mortality and disease rates among the most vulnerable populations, particularly children under five, as well as pregnant and lactating women.

The project utilizes interactive, community-based awareness strategies to promote the adoption of healthy nutrition practices, contributing to the sustainability of its impact beyond the implementation period.

The initiative is expected to directly benefit more than 212,000 individuals across 26 sites, including villages and displacement camps—among them, approximately 80,000 children and 60,000 pregnant or nursing women.
