Istanbul Chamber of Commerce seeks investment in Syria

Ankara, SANA- Istanbul Chamber of Commerce said Monday, that it had sent two members of its board of directors to Syria to conduct “a field study” on investment opportunities.

”A rapid integration between Turkey and Syrian businessmen who lived in Turkey and have now returned to Syria is possible,” Anadolu news agency quoted Shekib Avdagic, President of the Istanbul Chamber of Commerce (ITO).

Avdagic explained that two members who traveled to Syria for a review tour, met with the Turkish ambassador to Syria, the Damascus Chamber of Commerce, and some Syrian industrialists.

“We can benefit of the investment advantages of our neighbor Syria along with the technological development in Turkey, to quickly obtain important investment advantages” Avdagic said.

He added that the Chamber could “include Aleppo in our investment agenda, given its geographical and moral proximity to Turkey and Damascus.”
