Damascus, SANA- Foreign and Expatriates Minister, Mr. Asaad al-Shaibani, held a press conference at Damascus International Airport following his return from a work visit to the State of Qatar at the head of an official delegation.

“We have already returned from the State Qatar, and this visit comes within the positive openness of new Syria,” al-Shaibani said.Minister Al-Shaibani: Ministerial delegation's visit to Qatar gave fruits to a set of understandings to support Syria in various sectors

“The visit of the high-level ministerial delegation to the State of Qatar gave fruits to a set of understandings to support Syria in various sectors and open up prospects for cooperation and investment in the country in all areas,” the Minister said.

” I met with my brother, His Excellency Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman Al Thani, Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs of the State of Qatar, and we held in-depth talks that addressed bilateral relations in various political, economic, developmental, and humanitarian fields.”

Minister Al-Shaibani continued: “During the meeting, I conveyed the greetings of His Excellency President Ahmad Al-Sharaa to his brother, His Highness Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, and our appreciation in Syria for Qatar’s stances, which expressed a serious willingness to support Syria’s stability and contribute to its reconstruction, based on shared Arab responsibility.”Minister Al-Shaibani: Ministerial delegation's visit to Qatar gave fruits to a set of understandings to support Syria in various sectors

He added that discussions in Qatar focused on expanding bilateral cooperation in the energy, economy, trade, finance, tourism, communications, information technology, higher education, development, and other sectors.

“We agreed with Qatari Ministry of Health to build a modern hospital in Syria, support the health sector, equip three Syrian hospitals and cooperate in developing the pharmaceutical sector in Syria,” Minister Al-Shaibani added.

He stressed that the two sides agreed to continue supplying Qatari gas via Jordan, and to enhance cooperation in the oil and gas sectors, we also agreed to reactivate the Qatari-Syrian Holding Company to serve as a genuine investment platform.Minister Al-Shaibani: Ministerial delegation's visit to Qatar gave fruits to a set of understandings to support Syria in various sectors

“Our Qatari brothers will provide technical support to the Syrian government’s efforts to implement economic and financial reforms, and Qatari banks will begin providing correspondent banking services for Syrian banks in riyals, connecting Damascus to the global system,” al-shaibani said.

“We expressed our gratitude for the salary grant provided by Saudi Arabia and Qatar,” he added.
