Damascus, SANA-Minister of Local Administration and Environment, Mohammed Anjarani, discussed Wednesday with the UN Population Fund’s representative in Syria, Muriel Mafico, mechanisms for joint action and ways to support the current phase regarding local administration, development, the return of displaced citizens to their homes, and the implementation of projects to support and empower women.
Anjarani stressed “the importance of the Fund’s efforts that assist the Syrian people”, noting that “the current phase requires accurate data and statistics to assess citizens’ needs”.
For her part, Mafico stated that the Fund “supports the Syrian people through development, health, and statistical programs, as well as women’s empowerment”.
She affirmed “the importance of activating the work of local councils, supporting decentralization, empowering it within society, and providing the necessary programs to implement this initiative”.
