Yemeni Foreign Ministry: Lifting sanctions on Syria positive initiative to alleviate the suffering of Syrian people

Aden, SANA- The Yemeni Ministry of Foreign Affairs has welcomed the announcement by U.S. President Donald Trump regarding the lifting of sanctions on Syria, affirming the country’s support for Syria’s unity, sovereignty, and territorial integrity.

In a statement cited by the Yemeni News Agency “Saba,” the Yemeni Foreign Ministry considered that “this step is a significant and positive initiative towards alleviating the humanitarian suffering of the brotherly Syrian people and providing a conducive environment to advance peace efforts.”

The Yemeni Foreign Ministry expressed the Republic of Yemen’s appreciation for the diplomatic efforts exerted by the brotherly Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, which contributed to creating the atmosphere for this step.
