EU pledges approximately €2.5 billion in aid to Syria

Brussels, SANA- European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen announced that the European Union pledged approximately €2.5 billion in aid to Syria during the 9th  donor conference for Syria, held today in Brussels, as part of its efforts to rebuild the country.

“Syrians need greater support, whether they are still abroad, or they decide to go home. And this is why today, the European Union is increasing its pledge for Syrians in the country and in the region to almost 2.5 billion euros for 2025 and 2026,” said European Commission head Ursula von der Leyen.

In a statement issued today, the European Union affirmed its unwavering support for Syria and its contribution to reconstruction and economic recovery efforts, noting that it will continue to assist the Syrian people in building a free and prosperous future.
