EU: Integration of SDF paves the way for enhancing Syria's stability and prosperity

Brussels, SANA-European Union welcomed the agreement to integrate the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) into the institutions of the Syrian Arab Republic, describing it as paving the way for increasing stability and achieving a better future for Syrians.

In a statement on its website, the EU affirmed its readiness to provide Syria with the necessary support to implement the agreement’s provisions, noting that the national dialogue, which began at the end of February, must lead to the fulfillment of the aspirations of all components of Syrian society.

The Union considered the Comprehensive transitional justice in particular is essential on the path to reconciliation and to building a peaceful Syria and an inclusive political transition.

Regarding the EU’s recent suspension of some of the sanctions imposed on Syria, the EU stated that it is considering suspending further sanctions, reiterating its call for respect for Syria’s sovereignty, unity and territorial integrity.

The European Union also called for the continuation of humanitarian aid deliveries to Syria and put an end to violence across the country, warning against any attempts by foreign actors to manipulate information to incite further violence and instability.
