Ankara, Dec. 14 (SANA) Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan emphasized the importance of joint action among regional countries and international partners to support stability in Syria.
Anadolu Agency quoted Fidan as saying in a TV interview, “The ongoing events in southern Syria may pose a significant danger to us, and the problem is that Israel has become an intervening party in these events.”
Fidan stated that the scale of destruction in the country requires significant efforts, beginning with the removal of imposed sanctions to initiate the reconstruction process.
He emphasized that lifting some U.S. restrictions on investments in Syria is a crucial step. While investment efforts have begun, the needs remain significant. He also highlighted the broad opportunities for Syrian-Turkish cooperation in trade, transport, and regional connectivity.
Fidan also called on the SDF to immediately take steps to implement the March 10 agreement signed with the Syrian government, stressing that the current situation threatens the security of Syria, Turkey, and neighboring countries.
