Baghdad, Dec.10 (SANA) A delegation from the Syrian Ministry of Interior, headed by Brigadier General Khaled Eid, Director of the Anti-Narcotics Department, took part in the third Baghdad Conference on Combating Drugs, attended by officials and experts from Arab and international countries.
During the conference, held in Baghdad from December 7 to 8, the participants discussed recent challenges in the field of combating drugs with ways to enhance international and regional cooperation to fight drug trafficking and protect society from its dangerous effects.
The event also included the exchange of expertise and practical strategies among the participating countries.
Brigadier General Eid emphasized the importance of developing mechanisms for joint strategic coordination and activating bilateral and multilateral cooperation programs, which strengthen countries’ ability to confront drug-related crimes and reaffirm Syria’s active contribution to efforts to combat this scourge at both Arab and international levels.
Iraqi Prime Minister Mohammed Shia’ Al-Sudani inaugurated the conference last Sunday, with delegations from 12 countries participating.
