A delegation from the Syrian Ministry of Interior, comprising several high-ranking officers, participated in a workshop entitled “The Role of International Relations and Diplomacy in Security Fields.” The workshop, hosted by the Swiss city of Geneva, was organized by Naif Arab University for Security Sciences (NAUSS) in cooperation with the Geneva Centre for Security Studies, and attended by international experts and representatives from several Arab countries.
The Ministry stated on its Telegram channel that the workshop addressed several topics, including:
▪️ Diplomatic Engineering in the Modern Security Context
▪️ The Role of the World Trade Organization (WTO)
▪️ Disarmament and Mine Clearance Agreements in Post-Conflict Countries
▪️ Cybersecurity Development and Digital Transformation and Their Impact on Security Systems
The delegation concluded its work with an official visit to the United Nations headquarters in Geneva, where it participated in a specialized session on the UN’s role in mediation in Syria. During this session, mechanisms for conflict management and strengthening peace processes were reviewed.
The Ministry of Interior affirmed that this participation comes within the framework of its efforts to train its personnel, expand its presence on the international stage, and exchange expertise in security and diplomatic fields.
