Syria’s Minister of Social Affairs and Labor, Hind Kabawat, met with a delegation from the European Union to discuss funding mechanisms and contractual frameworks for child-protection programs in partnership with the humanitarian organization Terre des Hommes (TDH).
The discussions concluded with an agreement to allocate €1.5 million to support basic needs in juvenile care centers, with part of the funds potentially directed to facilities addressing child begging.
The funding package includes logistical upgrades and vocational training programs aimed at helping vulnerable children and adolescents develop skills and enhance their prospects for social reintegration.
