Istanbul to Host Ministerial Meeting on Syria’s Reconstruction and Investment

Istanbul will host a ministerial meeting on Tuesday focusing on Syria’s reconstruction and investment environment, held within the framework of the 41st Session of the Standing Committee for Economic and Commercial Cooperation (COMCEC) of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC).

The meeting will bring together ministers and senior officials from OIC member states to discuss key priorities including infrastructure rebuilding, job creation, investment promotion, and improved coordination among institutions involved in reconstruction efforts. Discussions will also highlight the role of the private sector in driving sustainable economic recovery in Syria, Turkey’s state-run Anadolu Agency said on Monday.

The ministerial session of COMCEC kicked off Monday with remarks by Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, attended by high-level representatives from member countries and international organizations.

Side events held on Monday addressed institutional capacity-building and rural economic development in Syria. Another seminar titled “Activating Economic and Social Development Dynamics: The Case of the Syrian Arab Republic” is scheduled for Tuesday.

The 41st COMCEC session, launched Monday in Istanbul with Syria’s participation, continues to serve as a key platform for promoting economic cooperation among OIC member states.
