Syrian Minister of Local Administration and Environment, Mohammad Anjarani, met with his Turkish counterpart, Minister of Environment and Urban Planning Murat Kurum, to discuss ways of enhancing bilateral cooperation and benefiting from Turkey’s experience in the fields of municipal services and reconstruction.
During the meeting, held on the sidelines of the International Zero Waste Forum in Istanbul, Minister Anjarani presented the extent of destruction in Syria and outlined the practical steps taken by his ministry to improve public services and advance urban development and transformation.
He emphasized the importance of forming a joint committee to follow up on cooperation efforts in environmental and urban development sectors.
Syria is participating in the International Zero Waste Forum, which commenced yesterday in Istanbul with representatives from 104 countries and 118 international organizations.
The forum aims to explore global collaborative steps in environmental protection, sustainability, circular economy, green transformation, waste management, and climate change mitigation.
