Syrian Foreign Ministry Technical Delegation meets Syrian Community Members in Libya

Tripoli, SANA-The head of the technical delegation and deputy director of the Arab Affairs Department at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates, Mohammad al-Jaffal, met with a number of Syrian academics residing in Libyan capital, Tripoli. This meeting is part of the ministry’s efforts to strengthen ties with Syrian expatriates abroad.

He appreciated the Libyan people’s embrace of the Syrian people throughout the years of the revolution, and for the position of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Government of National Unity in exempting all Syrians (residents and departing) from the fines imposed on them.

He added that the mechanisms for restoring diplomatic representation between the two countries were discussed, in a way that serves the common interests of the two brotherly peoples, starting with the reopening of the Syrian embassy in the capital, Tripoli.

Al-Jaffal reiterated the Syrian state’s commitment to strengthening fraternal relations between Damascus and Tripoli, calling for fostering a spirit of cooperation and solidarity among its people, which would help raise the nation’s profile in international forums.

For their part, the attendees expressed their gratitude to the technical delegation for this initiative, appreciating the efforts of the Syrian state in monitoring their affairs and providing them with ongoing support.
