Barrack: Syria is firmly committed to a united process that protects all its components

Washington, SANA- US Special Envoy for Syria, Thomas Barrack, said Tuesday that Syria is committed to protect all its constituencies, foster a shared future for the Syrians despite intervening forces seeking to disrupt and displace its communities.

Barrack said on X platform that ‘’Following productive discussions in Amman today with Jordanian Foreign Minister Ayman Safadi and Syrian Foreign Minister Assad al-Shaibani, the Syrian government has pledged to utilize all resources to hold perpetrators of the Sweida atrocities accountable, ensuring no one escapes justice for violations against its citizens”.

Amman, hosted Tuesday a joint Jordanian-Syrian-American meeting to discuss the situation in Syria and ways to support the process of rebuilding it on foundations that guarantee its security, stability, sovereignty, unity, and non-interference in its affairs.

“Syria will fully cooperate with the UN to investigate these crimes, including the horrific violence at Sweida National Hospital”, Barrack added.

The US envoy added that “Humanitarian care and inclusion serve as its remedy to counter divisive forces, and we are dedicated to increasing the flow of humanitarian aid to southwest Syria to support those affected by the conflict.”
